HELLO! This school year is going to be one that takes lots of creativity. This creativity is going to be needed in art, but also in all of your other classes and possibly the non-school parts of your life too. We are going to have to think creatively to do school virtually and still make it amazing. The ability to think creatively is something that all of my Barnwell Bear's are wonderful at doing, and that is why I have so much excitement for all of the things you are about do! My Barnwell Bears are the most creative and imaginative students around, and even though I know we all wish that we could see each other in person, we are going to use our amazing brains to make the very best of the situation we are in! Luckily for us art can be done anywhere and if we are creative enough we can do it with any kinds of supplies. We are going to use art to help us understand and improve every part of our time apart, and help us all to become more well rounded citizens of the world. I miss you all so much, and to all of my new students I am so excited to get to know you and see your wonderful creativity at work! I will see you in our virtual art room to create some very real art! Have fun and create a still life! go to the High Museum to learn a little more about what to do https://medium.com/high-museum-of-art/get-creative-at-home-arrange-a-still-life-of-your-favorite-things-bae42e722349

can you figure out who it is?Below I will show one example of a famous artist's artwork and give several clues about that artist. The 1st student from each grade level to respond with the correct answer by Friday April, 3rd, will receive a shout out and the rainbow art star! Let's get started! Clues:
1. This artist is most greatly know for painting in the Surrealist style 2. After the end of WWII this artist supported themselves through the production of fake paintings of Picasso, Van Gogh, Manet and Paul Cezanne. 3. This artist used an illustrative technique that clearly articulated the content of his picture unlike many of the surrealist artists of that time. 4. One of this artist's greatest and most used symbol is the bowler hat. WHO AM I? you can turn in your answers by email @[email protected] Some of you may have seen my post of this on twitter last week. This is a great way to calm the mind and create some interesting doodles in the process! I used a coaster from my coffee table to trace a circle but you could use anything in any shape to fill in with your lines. Maybe try it out with different types of lines (ex. straight, wavy, zig-zag etc.) I would love to see your art work when its done, you can post in comments here, tweet it at me, or email me!
